Why You Should Join Our Social Media Network

I am also a strong believer in the role that social media can play in helping organizations like Sierra Club connect with new and untapped audiences. Through online platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, Sierra can keep members and supporters updated and tapped into our campaigns.

I am a strong believer in the work Sierra Club BC does. Sierra has played a key role in protecting some of the most magnificent places in British Columbia, like the Flathead River Valley and the Great Bear Rainforest.

Sierra continues to push for strong policy initiatives around protecting our oceans, and carbon storage in forests and oceans. Sierra also plays a fundamental role in educating the next generation of environmentalists through their leading education programs and Sustainable High Schools project.

I am also a strong believer in the role that social media can play in helping organizations like Sierra Club connect with new and untapped audiences. Through online platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, Sierra can keep members and supporters updated and tapped into our campaigns.

By joining the Sierra Club Fan Page on Facebook, following us on Twitter or making us a favourite channel on YouTube, you are increasing the effectiveness of the work Sierra Club does. So without further ado, here are the top five reasons to join the Sierra Club Social Media bandwagon:

  1. Signing up as a fan on Facebook, or following us on Twitter or YouTube, will give you a sneak preview of what SCBC does, before it appears on our website or our e-newsletter (let alone the snail-mailed print one!)
  2. You can respond immediately to action alerts and updates as they happen
  3. Your support illustrates the depth and scope of people that care about Sierra's campaigns. This support can translate into influence with decision-makers.
  4. You become part of the Sierra Club community, and have a chance to connect one-on-one with the awesome campaign staff and experts in the field.
  5. Nothing is quite as sexy as supporting an awesome non-profit like Sierra Club. And in the world of social media, sexy can go a long way!

So please join us. Follow us on Facebook here, Twitter here or YouTube here. And if you feel like really helping out, please forward to five friends!
