Sail the Great Bear

Explore the maze of fiords of the Great Bear Rainforest aboard a carbon-neutral sailboat. Experience the wilderness alive with eagles, ravens, salmon and bears, and immerse yourself in coastal First Nations cultures.

Join the Sierra Club BC with special naturalist and guide Caitlyn Vernon and wildlife photographer Marni Grossman in the Great Bear Rainforest! Starting and ending in Bella Bella, this trip explores the remote islands and inlets of this special area.

See magnificent waterfalls, view ancient Petroglyphs, see whales frolic in the waters and watch grizzly bear fish for salmon in the estuaries.

We expect to see grizzly, black and Kermode bears and benefit from the knowledge of local native Gitga'at guides. Visit ancient coastal village sites, and enjoy current coastal towns such as Hartley Bay or Klemtu. See inside a Longhouse and talk to elders along the way. This nature cruise through the Great Bear Rainforest is full of spectacular scenery and wildlife. The trip is Aug. 29-Sept. 5, 2010 for $4335 CDN + GST. Sierra Club BC receives a donation from Bluewater Adventures of 10% of the cost of every booking.

Check out the trip highlights and book your Great Bear adventure.
