Global Salmon Action

British Columbians know first-hand the impacts of farmed salmon on our wild Sockeye, Coho and Chum. Nov 9-16 was the global week of action to protect wild salmon. See a new Canadian documentary and take action.

British Columbians know first-hand the impacts of fish lice from farmed Atlantic salmon on our wild Sockeye, Coho and Chum. Nov 9-16 was the global week of action to protect wild salmon from harmful farming practices.

A new short documentary produced by Canadian film-maker Damien Gillis lifts the lid on the problems caused by open-net cage salmon farms worldwide.   View the movie trailer.

“Farmed Salmon Exposed: The Global Reach of the Norwegian Salmon Farming Industry” features testimonies by witnesses discussing the harm to communities and the environment caused by poorly managed salmon farms.

The week of action is a truly global statment of commitment to protecting wild salmon and the abundance that they bring  - healthy seefood, livelihoods for coastal communities and thriving wildlife. Learn more about our seafood and oceans.
