Give the Gift of Green
The holiday season is all about spending time with family. It's also a great time to connect to the world around you, whether it's decorating a tree that fills your house with the scent of the forest, celebrating the winter solstice or sledding in the snow.
If your holiday tradition includes gift giving, Sierra Club BC has some options to help you with your list while also helping the conservation efforts that give back to the wild places and species of B.C.
To inspire young minds, Sierra Club is proud to recommend Caitlyn Vernon’s new book, “Nowhere Else on Earth: Standing Tall for the Great Bear Rainforest". Filled with stunning images of the coastal rainforest, this beautiful book encourages young readers to think about what future they would like to live in. If you are already planning for 2012, Sierra Club Wilderness Calendars and Engagement Day Planners are a great way to bring in the New Year.
For a great stocking stuffer, our special edition Denman Island chocolate bars are available in plain or mint dark chocolate. Proceeds from the bars go towards our Flathead River Valley campaign.
You can always help Sierra Club BC speak up for BC's wilderness by making a donation in someone's name. Donations made before December 31, 2011 will help us meet our year-end campaign goals. This is a great time to donate - until December 31, 2011, up to $16,000 in new gifts will be matched.
To purchase books, calendars, or chocolate, please give us a call at 250-386-5255 ext. 228 or drop by our office at 304-733 Johnson St., Victoria. Our office is open 9-5 until December 22.
Happy holidays from all of us here at Sierra Club BC!
