The Northern Boreal Mountains

The Northern Boreal Mountain ecoprovince covers the northwest corner of the province. The region gets some rain in summer and some snow in winter; the winters are longer and colder than the rest of the province while the summers are short, not very warm, and they are usually dry but can be rainy. The climate is similar to parts of the Yukon and the Arctic.

This ecoprovince includes huge areas of wilderness, with mountain ranges, large valleys and plateaus. Animals that are often found in northern areas, like Dall's sheep and the Northern Red-backed Vole, can be seen here.

The major cities are Atlin, Cassiar and Telegraph Creek.
