Elementary & Middle Students

school programs for elementary and middle school grades

The BC Chapter's Education Program offers school-based workshops that investigate four areas of special interest to elementary and middle school teachers and students.

The following elementary/ intermediate programs are available:

Each of our programs is unique. In some, students meet the Mrs C02 (CCEP); in others they take an imaginary voyage into the Ecoprovinces, meeting turtles, deer, salmon, wolves and other B.C. animals (Eco Stewardship). Or, they might participate in a temperate rainforest 'sensory exploration', using their senses to meet the plants and animals there (TREE Team).

Within each program, we have ensured that the appropriate amount, type, and style of learning are applied to the appropriate learner levels. Stewardship and personal connection to the earth are central themes for all programs, with each presentation using a combination of hands-on, interactive games, activities, arts and crafts, slide shows and discussion groups to draw children in. In all programs, students are highly active participants in the learning process.

All programs are aligned with the B.C. curriculum and include both Pre- and Post-Program Teacher's Packages and supplementary learning resources.

Looking for intermediate/secondary programs? See our program description for older classes.
