When a group of Sierra Club members and others at the University of
Victoria decided they wanted to form their own BC chapter in 1968,
Alan Drengson, who was a faculty member at the time, was enthusiastic. They formed the Victoria
Chapter of the Sierra Club in Canada and sought to be certified by the
