Lecture and discussion with the author of Sea Sick: the Hidden Crisis in the Global Ocean

“You thought the climate was the problem? Actually, it's the ocean.”

So says Alanna Mitchell, Canadian journalist and author of the internationally-acclaimed book Sea Sick: the Hidden Crisis in the Global Ocean.

Sea Sick is the first book to explain how the global ocean — 99 per cent of the planet's living space — is undergoing vast chemical changes at the hand of man and why it matters.

Please join Alanna for an evening lecture and discussion in Victoria featuring a special opening performance by Victoria’s Gettin’ Higher Choir.   This event is presented by Programs in Earth Literacies, the University of Victoria Office of Campus Planning and Sustainability, and other local sponsors.

When: Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 7 - 9 pm

Where: B150 Bob Wright Centre, UVic School of Earth and Ocean Science

Cost: $10, $8/student
