About Quadra Group

In the fall of 1997 a dozen people met on Quadra Island. They discussed their concerns over numerous environmental issues on and around the island and how best to get more people involved with the issues. It was felt that we needed a stronger environmental voice and after some research decided that the Sierra Club of Canada, BC Chapter, with its combination of activism, lobbying, respectability, and longevity matched our interests and criteria. So in February of 1988 our group was formed and since that time we have been involved in a wide range of issues.
