Sierra Comox Valley was out in force at the April 29 rally to support Alexandra Morton's 500-kilometre walk to protect wild salmon. Comox Valley members also attended the rally at the Victoria Legislature on May 8.

Past Events: Sierra Comox Valley Inauguration

Sierra Comox Valley had its inaugural meeting on September 23. The K'omoks First Nation band hall was packed with local residents concerned about the Gas 'n Go on Dyke Road and protection of the Courtenay River estuary.

Ray Grigg from Sierra Quadra was keynote speaker. Sierra Club BC Executive Director George Heyman presented a Lifetime Achievement award to Ruth Masters - a founding member of the group, a longtime Comox resident and environmental champion.
