Local Groups

Located throughout the province, Local Groups are an integral part of Sierra Club BC.

Local Groups are made up of Sierra Club members who wish to take an active role in protecting the environment in their city or region.

These members come together for a variety of reasons: concern about a local environmental issue, shared stewardship values, or simply a love of the local surroundings.

Local groups host events, community nights, guest speakers, potlucks, and parties. Many of them also organize outings such as hiking or kayaking trips. Local groups have their own bylaws and Executive Committee, which serves the role of a board of directors.

For more information, and for guidance in running your local group, please contact our Grassroots Coordinator.
