Meet Group Leaders
Patricia Molchan, Co-Chair, Treasurer and Transition Victoria Coordinator: I have been a closet environmentalist all my life and have always tried to be kind to the environment. However, once I learned that Global Warming is, bar none, the most potentially devastating event of our lifetime – and that of our kids, grandkids & future generations, I knew I could no longer sit on the sidelines and watch. Working with a well-respected environmental group such as the Sierra Club is one way I can make a difference.
Jean Wallace, Co-Chair and Pesticide Campaign Coordinator: I am a long-time member of the Sierra Club of Canada and have volunteered on the Victoria Group Executive Committee since 1999. I was first attracted to get involved with the Victoria Group because of their action on local issues such as pesticide use and environmentally-unfriendly development. I have written articles for our newsletter, represented the Sierra Club on pesticide-action committees, and helped organize community events. I enjoy connecting with other environmental groups so that together we can present a strong voice for environmental protection.
Caspar Davis, Newsletter Editor: I have lived in Victoria for over 20 years and been active with the Victoria Group for about 5 years. I have edited the newsletter for the past year. I am interested in the big picture of global warming, peak oil etc.—and also in local and regional issues like water and energy conservation, development impacts, and the fish farming issue.
