Infuse some sunshine into the chilly fall days with these memories of Sierra Victoria's spectacular June 2009 outings to Sombrio Beach and Botanical Beach with Brian Pinch.

June 27: Chin Beach overnight outing

Chin Beach is the premiere camping spot on the Juan de Fuca trail.  Watch the sun set over the Pacific from our campfire on the beach.  We will meet at noon on Saturday, then have about a 1-2 hour backpack hike down to Chin Beach via a shortcut trail.  Sunday we will exit via Sombrio Beach, about 5-6 hours, crossing the spectacular Loss Creek suspension bridge along the way.  A terrific hike but expect some mud and rough trail.  Back Sunday evening.

June 15: Sombrio Beach family overnight outing

We will camp Saturday night on beautiful Sombrio Beach, a short (about 20 minutes) backpack on a high-quality trail.  On Sunday morning, we will drive to Botanical Beach and do an easy dayhike to the spectacular tide pools located there.  Back in town by 6:00 p.m.

June 8: Mystery Peak Climb in Sooke Hills
