Amy Cousins Bio

Amy Jean Cousins

Amy Cousins black-white

Amy spent her childhood in beautiful Campbell River visiting local islands and going on fishing and ski trips with the family. She has always had a great love of the outdoors and all living things, and holds a BA from UVic with majors in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. After the completion of her undergrad, Amy moved to Europe and found work with the Hohliebi Programs, an Outdoor Alpine Environmental Education Centre in Switzerland. Based in Lenk im Simmental, Chalet Hohliebi provides school and summer camp programs in English (and sometimes French) to children from all over the world.

Amy was so inspired that she returned home to enroll in an elementary teacher education program at UBC, and then returned for a second season of leading educational hikes through the Swiss Alps. Amy has now completed her Bachelor of Education, and feels very fortunate to be joining the Sierra Club BC’s education delivery team this year. She is passionate about hands-on education, and excited about exploring the local landscape, while increasing environmental awareness across BC!
