Dianna Porter Bio
Dianna has grown up on Vancouver Island and has always been
passionately committed to the environment. After completing her B.A.
in Environmental Studies and Anthropology she went on to complete a
B.Ed., specializing in elementary education. She has volunteered her
time for various environmental education projects including the
International Children’s Conference on the Environment (by UNEP) and
with Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary’s programs. She has worked as a
Teacher on Call in the Cowichan Valley for the past 2 years and has
recently taken a leave of absence to work for the Sierra Club of
Canada, BC Chapter’s Environmental Education Program. She is very
excited to have landed her “dream job;” one in which she can share her
love of nature with children and model sustainable solutions.
When
she’s not inspiring children to take action, she can be found figure
skating or hiking through the old growth forests of BC’s coastline.
