Michelle Atkins Bio

michelleGraphic designer Michelle Atkins grew up in Salmon Arm and in the lower mainland of B.C. Starting out as an artist at 3 years old, Michelle was always curious about the process in making printed publications.

Michelle holds an arts degree from UBC, as well as a graphic design certificate from Emily Carr Institute in partnership with BCIT.  She has four years of professional design experience, with over 20 years of fine art experience.  She has also spent many years teaching children, youth and adults in ESL, art and theatre. Michelle’s current work entails developing and producing all marketing and campaign materials for Sierra Club BC.

Michelle also works for local non-profit organizations and like-minded businesses on a part-time contractual basis when time permits.  Some of these organizations include the University of Victoria Sustainability Project, BC Sustainable Energy Association, and Energy Alternatives.

Michelle has a keen awareness of the preciousness and importance of all life  – a commitment which is reflected in her artwork which is currently on display at the Gallery at the Mac in Victoria.
