Sarah K. Cox Bio
Sarah has a dual role at Sierra Club BC; she is our Communications Director and she also runs our Flathead River Valley campaign.
Sarah was born in Montreal and grew up in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta before landing happily in B.C. Sarah has a dual role at Sierra Club BC; she is our Communications Director and she also runs our Flathead River Valley campaign.
Before joining the Sierra Club, Sarah was an award-winning magazine writer with a focus on business, the environment and globalization. She also worked as a part-time consultant for government and non-profits, doing research, writing and policy analysis on topics ranging from food security to offshore oil and gas exploration.
Sarah holds a M.A. in Political Science, with a focus on international development policy. She has a Graduate Diploma in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and is fluent in Spanish. She has worked and travelled extensively in Central America and Argentina.
Sarah’s passion for B.C.’s natural environment, along with her growing concern about the type of world her daughter will inherit, motivates her to use her communications skills and political knowledge in the non-profit sector. In her spare time Sarah loves to backpack, hike, kayak, canoe, play piano and grow food in her Fernwood garden.
