Rebecca Blumenshine

Rebecca Blumenshine is the Manger of Individual Giving at Sierra Club BC. She delights in the interrelation of effective fundraising and effective campaign organising. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, all of Rebecca’s first Canadian experiences were by canoe in the protected wilderness areas of the Boundary Waters (U.S.) and the Quetico (Ontario). These and other wilderness experiences give meaning to her life. She can imagine no more important legacy to leave for future generations than the preservation of BC’s breath-taking wilderness areas.

Rebecca comes to Sierra Club most recently from Washington, DC where she worked in both the development and communications departments of FairVote--a non-partisan electoral reform and voting rights advocacy organization. Rebecca’s professional background also includes stints as a kindergarten teacher in China and as a community radio producer in Minnesota and Connecticut.

In 2005, Rebecca completed a BA in Sociology from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. She has travelled extensively and speaks Spanish, German and Chinese with varying ease depending on the day.
